Seasons Overthrown

Seasons Overthrown

A black hand reaches

And chokes the last

Warm breath out of Summer.

The coldness of her death

Surrounds and foreshadows

The arrival of the dark king Winter

His white frozen hands

Enclosing the land,

His icy breath flowing

Steadily through dead trees.

Descending upon the earth

Like a shroud

Winter takes the late Summer's throne

And begins his tyrannical reign.
